Compassionate Approaches to Mental Health

April 22 @ 11:00 am - 3:30 pm

The concept of compassion has been around for thousands of years, originating in spiritual traditions. More recently, compassion has become popular in psychotherapy and psychology as a way of helping people manage difficult experiences.

This workshop explores compassion and how it can help us respond to difficulty more effectively, covering:

  • What is compassion and how can we apply it to ourselves?
  • What are the benefits of compassion and how can it help people experiencing mental health difficulties?
  • Understanding barriers to compassion
  • Present moment awareness as a gateway to compassion
  • Developing compassionate responses to difficult emotions

This workshop is for people experiencing mental health challenges, those supporting them and anyone who would like to learn more about compassion. Please note our workshops are open to anyone aged 18+ and are free to attend.

Please be aware that this workshop has an experiential component. It includes guided meditations, self-reflection exercises, and group activities.

This workshop is co-produced and delivered by mental health professionals and experts by experience.
