Mental Health and Addiction: Paths to Recovery

We are excited to announce a brand new workshop in collaboration with Mindful Art Club –
Addiction and mental health difficulties affect many across Plymouth and beyond, but are often left feeling stigmatised and without appropriate support. These conditions often go hand-in-hand and we therefore want to raise awareness and improve understanding of the common signs, symptoms, and risk factors of both conditions, as well as supporting people to pave the way for their own recovery in an empowering, non-judgemental way.
This workshop is for:
- People who have experiences (either directly or indirectly) with different types of addictions
- Anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of the links between mental health and addiction
- Those wanting to know more about mental health and addiction recovery
- Mental health workers and professionals who may encounter people with addictions
- Friends, family members, and carers of those experiencing addiction or mental health difficulties
We will be exploring the different factors which may lead to a diagnosis of addiction, and different mental health conditions, in addition to how these conditions link to and affect one another.
Please note that this workshop aims to create a safe, non-judgemental environment in order to educate and empower others. Due to the sensitive nature of topics discussed, anyone attending our workshops must be aged 18 years and above.
Please also note that you do not need to have a formal mental health or addiction diagnosis to attend this workshop, however we politely ask that you do not attend this workshop whilst under the influence of illicit substances.
There will be a maximum of 20 people taking part in the workshop with 3 facilitators who have professional and lived experience.
If you have any questions or would like to know more before booking, please contact us on hello@plymouthreg.com or 01752 936306.
