Who we are

Plymouth REG is made up of a group of individuals with professional knowledge and lived experience of mental health who came together with the same mission; to support and empower people through their mental health recovery journey with compassion and understanding.

We believe that co-production in mental health education and support is vital for a meaningful outcome. This means that in everything we do, professional knowledge and lived experience is equally valuable. We have seen the value that people gain from hearing about other’s lived experience stories. It helps them to feel seen, validated, and less alone.

Through our work we aim to remove stigma in order to reduce the shame that people often feel and to empower them to feel better able to advocate for themselves and listen to their own bodies and minds.

What we do

At REG, we co-produce educational mental health workshops that bridge the gap between professional knowledge and lived experience because we believe that co-production is the key to impactful mental health education and awareness.

We believe in hope and compassion. In order to help people to improve their mental health experience, we educate and empower. Through co-producing and delivering workshops, we are able to collaborate with a range of fantastic people who each bring a unique perspective to improve the experience for everyone.

As a result, we cover a broad range of mental health topics across our workshops with understanding and care.

Our free in-person workshops are designed to provide you with the knowledge and resources you need to live a meaningful, productive, and fulfilling life. We'll help you gain the skills to address mental health issues and support your own recovery journey.

I am an expert by experience with anxiety, depression, EUPD, and ADHD. I have worked in psychology for 9 years, with the aim to become a clinical psychologist one day.

As someone who is very passionate about mental health awareness and recovery, I became a part of Plymouth REG because their values align strongly with my own, and so that I could have the opportunity to empower others with my story and lived experience of mental health. I founded D&C Directory as a result of wanting to make mental health services more accessible.

I joined REG because I believe that lived experience perspectives are an invaluable part of mental health recovery and healthcare.

I have a background in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, primarily working in Neurodiversity Education and Support.

I was diagnosed with ADHD 2 years ago and learning to understand myself better through this discovery has been life changing for me. As a result, I now use my own experience and knowledge to help others on similar journeys with improving their mental health and their relationships with themselves.

I am a consultant Clinical Psychologist working for Livewell Southwest in recovery services. I have been working with people who have experiences that get labelled as psychosis for many years. We explore different ways of making sense of their experiences and developing different ways of coping with them.

I am interested in how trauma can lead to these kinds of difficulties and how compassion can support recovery. I believe that people who have had their own difficulties have an important role to play in supporting the recovery of others.
