July 17 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Discover how yoga can support recovery from trauma by reconnecting the body and the mind.

This workshop will take place on Friday 17th July from 10 am to 3 pm at Space to Move, Devenport.

What to expect from this workshop:

This workshop explores the impact of trauma on the brain and body, offering practical tools for healing through movement and breath. In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn how trauma affects the nervous system, brain, and fascia.
  • Explore why yoga is uniquely effective for trauma recovery.
  • Experience breath-work, yoga postures, and mindful movement designed to promote safety and release.

Who is this workshop for:

This workshop is suitable for people who have been affected by trauma, whether or not they have a mental health diagnosis, their family, friends and carers, mental health workers or anyone seeking to understand the body-mind connection.

Why have we created this workshop?

We want to share the knowledge we have gained from our personal and professional learning about trauma recovery. Through our lived and learned experiences we have built an understanding of how yoga can contribute to feeling safe and counteract the effects of trauma on the body, brain and mind. We would like to offer it as a tool for others to use, for themselves or to support others.

This workshop will be a safe and validating space and we ask that this is
respected by everyone in attendance in order to make it as valuable and positive for everyone as possible.
There will be a maximum of 14 people taking part in the workshop with 2 facilitators who have
professional and lived experience.
